Spirit Airlines is a U.S. ultra-low-cost carrier known for stripped-down base fares with à la carte pricing for bags, seat selection, and refreshments. Tickets code as airfare on every card we track, but for cards that offer trip-delay or trip-cancel insurance the small base fare often falls below useful coverage thresholds.
