Our take

The Travel Advantage leads with 5% back at gas and EV-charging stations, a strong rate for a card with no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee. Read the cap before you plan around it: the 5% category is limited to $350 in cash back per year, roughly $7,000 of fuel spending, and drops to 1% after that. Below that ceiling the card fills in reasonably well with 3% on groceries, dining, and travel including AAA purchases, though everything outside those categories earns just 1%. The $100 bonus after $1,000 in three months is small but low-effort. This is a commuter's card more than a travel card: if fuel is not a large share of your monthly spending, the headline rate will not do much for you.
