Expedia is one of the largest online travel agencies, owned by Expedia Group (which also owns Hotels.com, Vrbo, and Travelocity). Bookings code as travel on every card we track. The honest catch: hotel and airline programs typically do NOT credit Expedia bookings toward elite-night or elite-qualifying-mile counts, and many properties exclude OTA stays from earning their own loyalty points — so booking direct usually wins for status-conscious travelers.
