Car rentals reward the right card twice: earning, via Chase Sapphire Preferred or Reserve travel multipliers and Capital One Venture X's flat 2x, and coverage, via the primary rental CDW several of those cards carry, which is genuinely valuable on European rentals where damage waivers are pricey add-ons. Watch foreign-transaction fees on cards that still charge them.
