Amex Reduces Cathay Pacific Transfer Ratio from 1:1 to 5:4 Effective March 1

American Express is reducing the transfer ratio to Cathay Pacific from 1:1 to 5:4 (20% devaluation) effective March 1, 2026. Capital One also reducing Emirates transfers from 1:1 to 1:0.75 (25% devaluation) effective January 13, 2026. These changes significantly reduce outsized value for premium redemptions.
