This is only worth considering if you spend heavily at Amazon and already pay for Prime, because the 5% back on Amazon and Whole Foods purchases disappears without an eligible membership. It is a closed-loop card, usable only at Amazon, select Amazon stores, Whole Foods with an in-store code, and merchants that accept Amazon Pay, so it can never be a primary card. The financing is the other draw: 0% equal monthly payments over 6 months on Amazon purchases from $50 to $599.99, 12 months on purchases of $600 or more, and 24 months on select items. Weigh that against a fixed 29.49% APR, which is what applies to anything outside a promotional plan. The signup gift card has also been shrinking, from $60 to $10 in June and to nothing in July, so there is no upfront incentive left to open it.
