There is also 3% on online shopping, but only when you pay through Venmo itself, such as checking out with Venmo online or paying a business on Venmo, not on online shopping in general. The catch is that everything else, including groceries, gas, travel, and utilities, earns just 1%, which is down from the 3% or 2% those categories earned under the card's old top-category design. It is a good fit for heavy Venmo users who spend a lot on going out, but it needs a stronger everyday card beside it.
