Barclays raised the annual fee from $95 to $149 in June, but paired it with a jump in the signup bonus from 45,000 to 100,000 points, structured as 45,000 after $3,000 of spend in 90 days plus 55,000 after $500 at Wyndham hotels within 180 days. The recurring math holds up better than the fee increase suggests, because 15,000 anniversary points each year covers up to two award nights, automatic Diamond status is included for as long as you hold the card, and award bookings cost 20% fewer points. Watch the fine print on the headline rate: the 8x applies only at Wyndham properties, and everything outside the bonus categories earns a flat 1x, which is weak. If your team does not stay at Wyndham brands, the $149 fee and a $65 warehouse club credit will not carry this on their own.
