Our take
The Propel was one of the better no-fee rewards cards of its era: 3 points per dollar on dining, travel, transit, gas and select streaming services, with no annual fee attached. That category spread still holds up, covering most of what a typical household spends outside of groceries. The catch is availability, since Wells Fargo no longer accepts applications, so this is a card you can only keep rather than open. Everything outside the bonus categories earns 1 point per dollar, so if you are still carrying it, use it for those five categories and route general spending elsewhere. With no annual fee to justify, there is rarely a reason to close it and give up the account history.
