The United Presidential Plus is closed to new applicants, so this is a card you either already hold or you don't. At $495 a year it sits in premium airline territory, but we have no earn rates, statement credits, or lounge benefits on file for it, which makes it hard to argue the fee is doing much work. If you're carrying it, the honest exercise is to compare the miles and perks you actually collected last year against that $495, and against what a currently open United card would give you for less. Account age is worth something, but not $495 a year on its own.
