The Performance Business is the top of Chase's Southwest business lineup, and the perks justify the $299 annual fee for frequent Southwest flyers: 9,000 anniversary points, unlimited Extra Legroom seat upgrades within 48 hours of departure when available, complimentary Preferred or Standard seat selection at booking, Group 5 boarding, and a free first checked bag for you and up to eight passengers on the same reservation. It earns 4 points per dollar on Southwest purchases and 2x across gas, dining, hotels booked directly, transit, and internet, cable, phone, and advertising spend, with 80,000 points after $5,000 in the first three months. It also builds status faster than the rest of the family: 2,500 tier qualifying points toward A-List for every $5,000 spent, plus 10,000 Companion Pass qualifying points each year, though those Companion Pass points don't count toward flight redemptions. Rounding it out are a Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS credit of up to $120, 25% back on inflight purchases, no foreign transaction fees, and free employee cards. If your business doesn't fly Southwest several times a year, the cheaper Premier Business covers most of the same ground for $150 less.
