Alliant Cashback Visa Signature

Alliant has closed this card to new applications, so this is a note for existing cardholders rather than a recommendation. As of November 1, 2025 it pays a flat 1.5% on all purchases, replacing the old 2.5% Tier One structure that required an Alliant High-Rate Checking account. That change removes most of the reason people carried it: 1.5% flat with no annual fee is a fine floor, but it is no longer distinctive, and there are no other benefits attached. There is no foreign transaction fee, which is the one remaining edge if you travel and have nothing better in the wallet. If you held it for the 2.5% rate, it is worth checking whether a current flat-rate card would do better on the same spending.
